The feathery antennae maximize surface area for scent detection. Born without functional mouth parts adults only live about a week. 

We’re actually hanging out in my car avoiding my friend who enjoys collecting bugs. I felt like he should go back to the Earth. Eventually I hid him in tall grass next to the parking lot after I took his photo. Male’s have extra bushy antenna compared to their ladies.
